Tough Decisions

Ever have to make a tough decision? What is a tough decision anyway?
Obviously, what's tough for me, may not be so for others.
I have to admit, the decisions are not as tough as when I was younger. I lacked the knowledge, gained through experience. I made decisions based on emotion, often brought about by self centered fear. What I face now are decisions that will affect the final years of my time on earth. My quality of life.
First of all, I must become adept at reading and understanding retirement speak. Date's, times, amounts. Nothing is a s simple as plug in some numbers and it all turns out. For instance, did you know; The USA is one of a few countries for which you are expected to file a tax return (If you are US citizen), no matter where you live! I know, I know, there are a dozen ways to get around the tax burdens (which starts with being able to interpret the retirement speak). But you're still expected to understand, tax laws, residency laws, retirement law, so on and so forth. It is not difficult trying decide when the options are only a few but trying to decide when each question has multiple answers and each answer can have multiple outcomes... that's tough for me.
Add to that, I have disabilities to be considered. I am recovering from a difficult past. Not difficult by choice as much as by birth into world of dysfunction, i.e. - alcoholism, divorce and all that follows. Also, I'm physically handicapped following an accident at work in which a backhoe rode up my legs and came to rest on my back.
That is the dynamics of one situation. There are other situations with their own dynamics. Some involving people. People I love, people I care for.
